HERMES GIFT OF TIME EXHIBITION: TANJONG PAGAR RAILWAY STATION
Natasha Hong 01 Aug 2012 06:03 PM Wed

We seriously don't know what we've done to deserve this, but we're dead honoured!
Hermes is bringing The Gift of Time around the world, and the French house has picked Singapore as one of its stops on this exhibition's journey. We're destination two on its travels from Hong Kong to Lille in France.

Not that we think its showing any favouritism, but Hermes puts on an impressive show here in Singapore compared to its Hong Kong predecessor. The brand's exhibition here takes place at the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, as opposed to Hong Kong's version in a mall; and we've got great food and coffee to boot, with four local pop-ups serving up goodies like Chinese roasted pork, Popaganda popsicles, and The Plain gourmet coffees at the U Cafe. Seating comes in the form of booths coloured in the iconic Hermes orange, complemented by the serene verdant greens from the disused train tracks.

Seng Choong Confectionery by Daniel Tay of Bakerzin.
The Gift of Time exhibition is a series of seven installation works by regular collaborator Hilton McConnico, a fashion designer turned set designer and art director, turned interior designer – the man's versatile! And even though the concept of time has been covered to death through art's history, McConnico employs a light, whimsical touch to the theme, while incorporating photogenic pieces like Hermes' iconic horse saddles, bags, and leather as part of its narrative.

Consider this Hermes's gift to Singapore with our National Day coming up in the horizon, and then make it a point to drop by to savour the beautiful arts, Hermes goods, and great grub at the exhibition.
The Hermes Gift Of Time exhibition, imagined by Hilton McConnico will take place from today until August 12, 2012 at the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. Admission is free.
