Westworld, the HBO sci-fi series that took TV fanatics on a wild, whirldwind ride, has found its match in this abandoned Japanese theme park. Located a few hours north of Tokyo, Japan's Western Village (formerly known as Kinugawa Family Ranch) is as creepy as you imagine.
The once-happening place in the '70s closed its doors in 2006 due to proposed developments. However, the plans did not push through, which preserved some areas of the park in all its spine tingling glory. Abandoned structures abound, alongside battered mannequins, dusty furniture and eerie lighting.
These images, which were captured by photographer Lee Chapman from the Tokyo Times, gives us a closer look at the place, making us want to plan a trip soon!
