Leave it to the Japanese to further elevate the art of brewing and drinking tea. If you're planning a trip to Tokyo soon, head to the Sangenjaya neighbourhood and make a beeline for Tokyo Saryo, which is perhaps the world's first hand-drip green tea cafe.
The cafe, which opened earlier this month, is a small, cozy space that consists of a rectangular wooden counter that's surrounded by nine stools. A session here will cost you about 1,300 yen, allowing you to enjoy two varieties of green tea, which are brewed through a wooden and ceramic apparatus, slowly dripping into a cup below.
If the unique tea experience leaves you wanting more, fret not — you can purchase the tea and tea dripper set online here.
