REVIEW - PHILIPS FIDELIO DS 7700

Concatenated with a Bluetooth function for wireless streaming, the DS 7700 can sustain power on its own, away from any power outlets, for at least 10 hours, thanks to its built-in battery. Because of its portability, the DS 7700 has a metal-covered plastic plate that you can magnetically attach over the unit to prevent scratches but it would be even better if a cloth carrier case was included as an extra measure against further damage.

There are two controls on the speaker dock (for volume and Bluetooth pairing) and beneath the speaker grille are neodymium drivers. We tested the DS 7700 in both small and medium-sized rooms and the clarity of sound was fine. It was another matter though, when we tested the unit in a large crowded room as the sound didn't travel quite as well.

Despite having a rounded bottom, the speaker dock turns into a stand when you pull out the catch at the back of the device; preventing it from rocking or falling over. And yes, we've heard complaints regarding the price of this model; it's a tad expensive. But we suppose it's a small price to pay for the device's  portability and versitility.
