CUTLERY RE-IMAGINED

No one ever does a double take when they see cutlery laid out on a table. These commonplace objects don't seek to stimulate your brain and exist for one purpose alone: Getting food from the plate to your mouth. But for Steinbeisser, the organisers for the "Experimental Gastronomy" initiative, cutlery was the perfect canvas for 35 international artists to play around with.

CUTLERY RE-IMAGINED

Each piece re-imagined by the artists was driven by a search for new ways to enjoy food and as a result, all conventionality flew out the window and the rules of usability were challenged. While some of the resulting designs and interpretations might make actual eating impossible (check out that spike-covered spoon that could easily double as a torture device), we can all agree that the thought-provoking forms they've taken on can be appreciated for their unexpected beauty.
